Nicolas Mullin is a self-taught abstract painter and entrepreneur. Primarily using an acrylic medium, his distinctive style is best characterized as a series of flowing circles, random dashes and precise droplets.
Not one to follow convention, Nicolas makes a point to never plan a painting beforehand. Indeed, he believes the best way to ruin an abstract painting, is to imagine how it will turn out. A circle here, two dashes there and a handful of droplets is how every painting begins. Never limited by the size of the canvas, his works allow the patron to think beyond it’s perimeter.
“My work life is precisely structured in 15 minute blocks – and by the end of the day, my favorite thing to do is paint in the most unstructured way imaginable.” – Nicolas Mullin
His primary influences include the likes of Norval Morrisseau, Albert Gleizes, Jackson Pollock, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
